description
Gill is a thought leader and strategic thinker with a commitment to engaging with complex issues to achieve a better future. She is committed to contributing to lifting Australian capability and places a strong emphasis on ethical management and maintaining high professional standards.
With over 18 years of consulting experience providing advice on strategy, governance and risk to governments and business, she brings a combination of strategic insight, an ability to consider the future today and a pragmatic approach in achieving successful change. Her consulting engagements focus on shaping strategy, building organisational resilience, embracing technology, achieving change and lifting executive capability.
Gill’s extensive hands-on experience as a senior executive in government strategy, policy, programs and transformation has also included Chief Operating Officer roles. Her public policy and program experience is diverse and spans leading and implementing the Australian Government’s Biometrics for Border Control Program which included design and implementation of SmartGate (automated self-processing of air travellers) at international airports in Australia and New Zealand, and redesigning air passenger analysis and assessment of air passengers. She has also led public policy and programs across transport, aviation, regional development, employment services and environment. Such program and service delivery experience working in and to government underpins her pragmatic approach to achieving outcomes.
She is Chair of the Risk, Compliance and Audit Committee for The Navy's Anchorage.
Gill applied her extensive expertise in analysis of geo-strategic challenges facing Australia and our region during her time as a Senior Fellow with the Northern Australia Strategic Policy Centre at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute and Deputy Leader of the ‘Independent Review of National Natural Disaster Governance Arrangements’ (commissioned by the emergency management ministerial council).
Gill is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, an Executive Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand School of Government and holds an MBA in International Business.
