Shaping Technology

LeadAbility Group developed the ICT Strategic Plan 2016-2018 for the National Archives of Australia that responds to and ensures the ICT capability supports achievement of the Digital Transformation Agenda now and into the future.

The ICT Strategic Plan was developed as a two-year plan to reflect the pace of change and position ICT in the new disruptive, agile ICT paradigm. To keep pace in a fast changing world, the Archives needed to be a disrupter rather than be disrupted.

The ICT Strategic Plan encompasses the following objectives:
• Default position is digital for all outcomes, outputs, processes and services
• Role in the digital future is clear and understood
• Has stronger strategic partnerships
• Has stronger leadership and greater focus on building the workforce
• Processes and technology supports digitisation and Digital by default.

The ICT Strategic Plan focuses on:
• Innovation to achieve the Archives’ digital future
• Delivery of ICT capability before it is needed
• Policy designed for the majority who will get it right
• Development of exemplary ICT professionals by following existing HR policies and frameworks, including supporting and mentoring all ICT staff
• Scalable network design that allows a reliable, agile and responsive service
• Positioning the Archives to meet its future business needs through services.
